Šušić families are usually Croats and they are mostly from Zadar area , rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zadar area and in Zadar.
Prevalence
About 330 people with faimily name Šušić live in Croatia today, in 120 households. There were 250 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 30 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 21 cities and 27 other places, mostly in Rupalj in Zadar area (55), Zadar (45), Kucice (40), Zagreb (40), and in Split (15).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over forty times, the first time 1692 in source Catholic Church Parish Records.
