In Croatia, Đorđić families are mainly Serbs, less frequently Croats (from Metkovic ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Beli Manastir area and in Vinkovci. In Caparde in Tuzla Region (Bosnia) every fifth inhabitant had the family name Đorđić.
Prevalence
About 60 people with faimily name Đorđić live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number tripled. They are located in 9 Croatian counties, in 11 cities and 17 other places, mostly in Vukovar (<10), Metkovic (<10), Rijeka (<10), Jarmina in Vinkovci area (<10), and in Knezevo in Beli Manastir area (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 2007 in source Encyclopaedia of Croatian Surnames.
