Čatić families are predominantly Croats and they are mostly from Pozega area , less frequently Bosniaks. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Pozega area and in Osijek.
Prevalence
About 80 people with faimily name Čatić live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 50 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 70 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 15 cities and 15 other places, mostly in Otok in Vinkovci area (10), Semeljci in Djakovo area (10), Visnjevac (<10), Doljanovci in Pozega area (<10), and in Osijek (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1932 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
