Zubović families are usually Croats and they are mostly from the Island of Pag , barely Serbs and Bosniaks. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born on the Island of Pag and in Rijeka. In places Zubovići and Kolan on the Island of Pag every second inhabitant had the family name Zubović.
Prevalence
About 770 people with faimily name Zubović live in Croatia today, in 370 households. There were 690 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 10 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 39 cities and 62 other places, mostly in Zubovici on the Island of Pag (190), Rijeka (180), Zagreb (105), Kolan on the Island of Pag (45), and in Pozega (20).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
