In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Middle Bosnia (Novi Travnik area) and in Middle Bosnia (Travnik area). In places Donje Pećine , Jezerci and Kovačići in Middle Bosnia every fifth inhabitant had the family name Zlatunić.
Prevalence
About 220 people with faimily name Zlatunić live in Croatia today, in 90 households. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 32 cities and 32 other places, mostly in Dragotin in Djakovo area (25), Zagreb (20), Lukavac (15), Zupanja (15), and in Slatina (10).
Outside Croatia
At least three families with this surname emigrated from Croatia to Austria (2) and the United States (1). Family name Zlatunić (including: Zlatunic , Zlatunich ) is present in 6 countries on three continents. "Zlatunich " is used by some 90 people in the United States.
