Zjalić families are predominantly Serbs and they are mostly from Nova Gradiska area , less frequently Croats. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Skradin and Sibenik. In Velika Glava in Skradin every fifth inhabitant had the family name Zjalić.
Prevalence
About 80 people with faimily name Zjalić live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 150 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number halved. They are located in 10 Croatian counties, in 11 cities and 9 other places, mostly in Sibenik (15), Gredjani in Nova Gradiska area (15), Podgaric in Cazma area (<10), Zagreb (<10), and in Zadar (<10).

Family name Zjalić (including: Zjalic , Zyalic ) is present in 6 countries on three continents. "Zyalic " is used by few people in the United States.
