Vrselja families are Croats and they are mostly from western Bosnia. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Western Bosnia (Livno area) and in Vinkovci. In Priluka in Western Bosnia every twentieth inhabitant had the family name Vrselja.
Prevalence
About 120 people with faimily name Vrselja live in Croatia today, in 50 households. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in 10 Croatian counties, in 11 cities and 8 other places, mostly in Nustar in Vinkovci area (30), Osijek (25), Vinkovci (20), Zagreb (20), and in Ceric in Vinkovci area (10).
Outside Croatia
Family name Vrselja is present in three countries on two continents.
