Vrbat families are Croats and they are mostly from Bosnian Posavina. According to some sources they are from Dalmatia (area between cities Trogir and Sibenik). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Bosanian Posavina (Derventa area) and in Zagreb.
Prevalence
About 390 people with faimily name Vrbat live in Croatia today, in 140 households. There were 50 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 27 cities and 27 other places, mostly in Zagreb (145), Slavonski Brod (40), Trogir (20), Prapatnica in Trogir area (15), and in Split (15).
