Vojković families are usually Croats and they are mostly from the Island of Vis , rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and Sinj. In Rukavac on the Island of Vis every second inhabitant had the family name Vojković.
Prevalence
About 630 people with faimily name Vojković live in Croatia today, in 300 households. There were 810 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 33 cities and 68 other places, mostly in Split (125), Zagreb (75), Vis on the Island of Vis (55), Prisoje in Sinj area (45), and in Obrovac Sinjski (45).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1749 in source 18th Century Census.
