Visintin families are mainly Italians and they are mostly from Buzet area , whereas often Croats (also from Buzet area ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Umag and in Buzet area. In Bencani in Buzet area every second inhabitant had the family name Visintin.
Prevalence
About 130 people with faimily name Visintin live in Croatia today, in 60 households. There were 210 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 40 percent. They are located in four Croatian counties, in 12 cities and 19 other places, mostly in Brtonigla in Buje area (15), Umag (10), Viskovo in Rijeka area (10), Babici (<10), and in Rijeka (<10).
