Uvalić families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Banja Luka area (Bosnia), often Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Banja Luka Region, Bosnia (Banja Luka area) and in Vukovar area. In Demiševci in Cazins Region (Bosnia) every fourth inhabitant had the family name Uvalić.
Prevalence
About 110 people with faimily name Uvalić live in Croatia today, in 40 households. There were 50 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number doubled. They are located in 9 Croatian counties, in 11 cities and 12 other places, mostly in Petrinja (30), Slatina (15), Negoslavci in Vukovar area (15), Retkovci in Vinkovci area (<10), and in Slatine (<10).

Family name Uvalić (including: Uvalic , Uvalich ) is present in 7 countries on three continents.
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1935 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
