In Croatia, Uršič families are predominantly Slovenes (from the Island of Brac ), rarely Croats (from Slovenia ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Slovenia and in Vinkovci.
Prevalence
Only a few people with faimily name Uršič live in Croatia today, in four households only. They are located in four Croatian cities only: in Split (<5), Rijeka (<5), Umag (<5), and in Supetar on the Island of Brac (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
