Udovičić families are Croats and they are mostly from Imotski area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Pula and Pazin. In Ravne Gornje in Middle Bosnia every second inhabitant had the family name Udovičić.
Prevalence
About 1300 people with faimily name Udovičić live in Croatia today, in 520 households. There were 760 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 70 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 56 cities and 127 other places, mostly in Zagreb (245), Split (80), Pula (65), Slavonski Brod (45), and in Sveti Petar u Sumi in Pazin area (45).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1742 in source Catholic Church Parish Records.
