Trogrlić families are Croats and they are mostly from Omis area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and in Middle Bosnia (Sarajevo area). In places Radeljevići and Čubren in Middle Bosnia every fourth inhabitant had the family name Trogrlić.
Prevalence
About 630 people with faimily name Trogrlić live in Croatia today, in 250 households. There were 200 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number tripled. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 47 cities and 58 other places, mostly in Split (135), Zagreb (70), Zezevica in Omis area (35), Bjelovar (25), and in Sestanovac in Omis area (25).

Family name Trogrlić is present in 17 countries on three continents.
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1926 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
