Tatić families are mainly Serbs and they are mostly from Banat , Vojvodina, also Croats (from Pula ), very rarely Bosniaks. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Pula and Zagreb. In Baštra in Cazins Region (Bosnia) every second inhabitant had the family name Tatić.

About 170 people with faimily name Tatić live in Croatia today, in 90 households. There were 110 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 60 percent.
They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 22 cities and 22 other places, mostly in Rijeka (25), Zagreb (25), Pula (20), Vukovar (10), and in Sisak (<10).

Family name Tatić (including: Tatic , Tatich , Tatick and Tattics ) is present in 26 countries worldwide. The family name "Tatic " is used by some 400 people in Turkmenistan , about 80 in the United States , and some 70 people in Germany. "Tatich " is used by some 100 people in the United States , about 100 in Cambodia , and small number of people in France. "Tatick " is used by small number of people in the United States.
