Tabaković families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Cazinska Krajina Region (Bosnia), often Bosniaks (also from Cazinska Krajina Region , Bosnia). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Cazins Region, Bosnia (Velika Kladusa area) and in Middle Bosnia (Bugojno area). In places Čelinja and Todorovo in Cazins Region (Bosnia) every eighth inhabitant had the family name Tabaković.
Prevalence
About 150 people with faimily name Tabaković live in Croatia today, in 60 households. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 25 cities and 20 other places, mostly in Zagreb (40), Mracelj in Duga Resa area (15), Slavonski Brod (10), Gunja in Zupanja area (10), and in Pula (10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
