Sulić families are predominantly Croats and they are mostly from Slavonski Brod area , less frequently Bosniaks (from Cazinska Krajina Region, Bosnia). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Cazins Region, Bosnia (Bihac area) and in Split. In Izačić in Cazins Region (Bosnia) every fifth inhabitant had the family name Sulić.
Prevalence
About 270 people with faimily name Sulić live in Croatia today, in 130 households. There were 160 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 70 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 27 cities and 22 other places, mostly in Zagreb (80), Split (35), Rijeka (30), Slavonski Brod (25), and in Brcino in Slavonski Brod area (15).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
