Sušac families are Croats and they are mostly from Bosanske krajine. According to some sources they are from west Herzegovina. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Herzegovina (Ljubuski area) and in Bosnian Krajina (Teslic area). In places Cerno and Crnopod in Herzegovina every fourth inhabitant had the family name Sušac.
Prevalence
About 510 people with faimily name Sušac live in Croatia today, in 220 households. There were 60 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 31 cities and 41 other places, mostly in Zagreb (170), Osijek (60), Vinkovci (30), Sesvete (25), and in Slavonski Brod (20).
