Stojsavljević families are mainly Serbs and they are mostly from Knin area , whereas often Croats. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Knin area and in Zagreb. In Velika Popina in Knin area every sixth inhabitant had the family name Stojsavljević.
Prevalence
About 170 people with faimily name Stojsavljević live in Croatia today, in 100 households. There were 620 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased significantly. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 14 cities and 24 other places, mostly in Zagreb (45), Split (10), Vukovar (10), Karlovac (<10), and in Ernestinovo in Osijek area (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
