Srhoj families are Croats and they are mostly from Peljesac Peninsula. According to some sources sa Hvara or from west Herzegovina. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and on Peljesac Peninsula. In Lovište on Peljesac Peninsula every fifth inhabitant had the family name Srhoj.
Prevalence
About 130 people with faimily name Srhoj live in Croatia today, in 60 households. There were 60 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number doubled. They are located in four Croatian counties, in 11 cities and 10 other places, mostly in Split (40), Loviste on the Peljesac peninsula (25), Dubrovnik (15), Makarska (15), and in Zagreb (10).
Outside Croatia
At least 11 families with this surname emigrated from Croatia to: the United States (5), Australia (3), Canada (1), Germany (1), and to New Zealand (1). Family name Srhoj is present in 6 countries on two continents.
