Surname Sorgo in modern Croatia

In Croatia, Sorgo families are mainly Italians (from Buje area ), equally Croats (from Novigrad ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Umag and in Buzet area. In Šorgi in Buzet area every third inhabitant had the family name Sorgo.

Prevalence

About 30 people with faimily name Sorgo live in Croatia today, in 15 households. There were 60 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number halved.
They are located in two Croatian counties and threee other places, mostly in Rovinj (<10), Sorgi in Buzet area (<10), Novigrad (<10), Sterna in Buje area (<10), and in Juricani (<5).
