Solomun families are Croats and they are mostly from middle Bosnia. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Middle Bosnia (Travnik area) and in Zagreb. In Ovčarevo in Middle Bosnia every sixth inhabitant had the family name Solomun.
Prevalence
About 220 people with faimily name Solomun live in Croatia today, in 100 households. There were 100 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number doubled. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 26 cities and 27 other places, mostly in Zagreb (45), Majur in Cazma area (25), Sisak (20), Majur in Hrvatska Kostajnica area (15), and in Rijeka (10).
