Surname Slavnić in modern Croatia

In Croatia, Slavnić families are mainly Serbs, less frequently Croats (from Crikvenica ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Middle Bosnia (Travnik area) and in Glina. In Korča in Middle Bosnia every tenth inhabitant had the family name Slavnić.

Prevalence

About 70 people with faimily name Slavnić live in Croatia today, in 40 households. There were 140 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number halved.
They are located in 9 Croatian counties, in 11 cities and 11 other places, mostly in Jabukovac (25), Zagreb (<10), Karlovac (<10), Vlahovic (<10), and in Jadranovo (<5).

Family name Slavnić (including: Slavnic , Slavnich , Slawnitsch and Slawnych ) is present in 16 countries on four continents. The family name "Slavnic " is used by some 50 people in the United States , small number in Germany , and small number of people in Canada. "Slawnitsch " is used by few people in the United States.
