Simović families are frequently Croats and they are mostly from Dubrovnik , less frequently Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Dubrovnik.
Prevalence
About 90 people with faimily name Simović live in Croatia today, in 40 households. There were 70 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 30 percent. They are located in 10 Croatian counties, in 11 cities and 7 other places, mostly in Zagreb (25), Cilipi in Dubrovnik area (20), Pula (10), Dubrovnik (<10), and in Split (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over thirty times, the first time 1923 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
