Sić families are predominantly Croats and they are mostly from Djakovo area , rarely Hungarians (from Vukovar ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Osijek and Vukovar.
Prevalence
About 200 people with faimily name Sić live in Croatia today, in 90 households. There were 220 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 10 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 27 cities and 28 other places, mostly in Zagreb (20), Osijek (15), Cepin in Osijek area (15), Pakrac (15), and in Sotin (15).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
