Salamun families are Croats and they are mostly from Pazin. According to some sources they are from Bosnia. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Nasice and Pazin.
Prevalence
About 130 people with faimily name Salamun live in Croatia today, in 60 households. There were 160 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 16 cities and 15 other places, mostly in Osijek (20), Zagreb (15), Tisno on the Island of Murter (10), Bodegraj in Nova Gradiska area (10), and in Strasnik (<10).
