In Croatia, Rusković families are Croats (from Peljesac Peninsula ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Dubrovnik and Rijeka. In Tomislavovac on Peljesac Peninsula every sixth inhabitant had the family name Rusković.
Prevalence
About 50 people with faimily name Rusković live in Croatia today, in 20 households. There were 90 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 40 percent. They are located in four Croatian counties, four cities and 7 other places, mostly in Split (15), Dubrovnik (15), Putnikovic on the Peljesac peninsula (15), Orasac (<5), and in Zagreb (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
