Surname Rusin in modern Croatia

In Croatia, Rusin families are predominantly Rusyns (from Vukovar ), rarely Croats (also from Vukovar ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Slavonski Brod and Vukovar.

Prevalence

Only a few people with faimily name Rusin live in Croatia today, in two households only. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased significantly.
They are located in two Croatian cities only, in Vukovar (<5) and Nerezine on the Island of Losinj (<5).
