Rusić families are mainly Serbs and they are mostly from Knin area , whereas often Croats (from Beli Manastir area ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Knin and Osijek.
Prevalence
About 120 people with faimily name Rusić live in Croatia today, in 60 households. There were 370 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased significantly. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 15 cities and 13 other places, mostly in Plavno (30), Split (20), Cepin in Osijek area (10), Biskupija in Knin area (10), and in Visnjevac (10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1923 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
