Prevalence
About 80 people with faimily name Ruić live in Croatia today, in 40 households. There were 160 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number halved. They are located in 7 Croatian counties and 9 other places, mostly in Split (25), Zadar (20), Grohote on the Island of Solta (10), Zagreb (<10), and in Podstrana in Solin area (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1929 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
