Rosić families are predominantly Croats and they are mostly from middle Bosnia , less frequently Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Middle Bosnia (Zenica area) and in Nova Gradiska. In Kula in East Herzegovina nearly every inhabitant had the family name Rosić.
Prevalence
About 440 people with faimily name Rosić live in Croatia today, in 200 households. There were 440 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 48 cities and 59 other places, mostly in Zagreb (65), Split (45), Rijeka (25), Prvca (25), and in Nova Gradiska (20).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over forty times, the first time 1750 in source 18th Century Census.
