Rapić families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Trogir area , rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Trogir area and in Trogir. In Ljubitovica in Trogir area every ninth inhabitant had the family name Rapić.
Prevalence
About 280 people with faimily name Rapić live in Croatia today, in 120 households. There were 210 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 40 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 17 cities and 29 other places, mostly in Zagreb (35), Prgomet in Trogir area (30), Kastel Stari (30), Trogir (25), and in Ljubitovica in Trogir area (20).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1942 in source Phone Directory of the Independent State of Croatia 1942.
