Raljević families are Croats and they are mostly from Sali on Dugi (Long) Island. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born on Dugi, Long Island and in Zadar. In Sali on Dugi (Long) Island every eighth inhabitant had the family name Raljević.
Prevalence
About 220 people with faimily name Raljević live in Croatia today, in 100 households. There were 250 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 10 percent. They are located in 9 Croatian counties, in 17 cities and 10 other places, mostly in Sali on Dugi (Long) Island (90), Omis (40), Zadar (15), Dugi Rat in Omis area (10), and in Pula (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
