Radnić families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Trogir area , rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and Sibenik. In Sitno in Trogir area every sixth inhabitant had the family name Radnić.
Prevalence
About 500 people with faimily name Radnić live in Croatia today, in 190 households. There were 360 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 40 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 25 cities and 33 other places, mostly in Split (95), Sibenik (70), Zagreb (60), Solin (40), and in Djakovo (35).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
