Purić families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Prelog area , rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Prelog area and in Zupanja area. In Žgaljići on the Island of Krk every third inhabitant had the family name Purić.
Prevalence
About 510 people with faimily name Purić live in Croatia today, in 220 households. There were 490 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 43 cities and 64 other places, mostly in Zagreb (70), Vrbanja in Zupanja area (45), Donji Kraljevec in Prelog area (35), Samobor (25), and in Rijeka (20).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
