Puača families are mainly Serbs and they are mostly from Knin area , whereas often Croats. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Knin area and in Knin.
Prevalence
About 100 people with faimily name Puača live in Croatia today, in 50 households. There were 190 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number halved. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 12 cities and 13 other places, mostly in Raducic in Knin area (25), Dalj in Vinkovci area (15), Split (15), Knin (<10), and in Bjelovar (<10).
Outside Croatia
Family name Puača (including: Puaca , Puhaca and Puacha ) is present in 8 countries on three continents. The family name "Puaca " is used by some 60 people in the United States.
