Prnjak families are Croats and they are mostly from Drnis area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Drnis area and in Split. In Kljake in Drnis area every eighth inhabitant had the family name Prnjak.

About 290 people with faimily name Prnjak live in Croatia today, in 110 households. There were 190 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 50 percent. They are located in 9 Croatian counties, in 14 cities and 14 other places, mostly in Split (125), Ruzic in Drnis area (30), Komletinci in Vinkovci area (25), Zagreb (15), and in Pula (15).
