In Croatia, Posinković families are almost entirely Croats (from the Island of Hvar ), very rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born on the Island of Hvar and in Split.
Prevalence
About 40 people with faimily name Posinković live in Croatia today, in 20 households. There were 70 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 50 percent. They are located in two Croatian counties and another small place , mostly in Stari Grad on the Island of Hvar (15), Split (10), Zagreb (<10), Kastel Gomilica (<5), and in Solin (<5).
