Piščević families are predominantly Croats and they are mostly from Obrovac area , less frequently Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Garesnica. In Mutilić in Obrovac area every fifth inhabitant had the family name Piščević.
Prevalence
About 80 people with faimily name Piščević live in Croatia today, in 40 households. There were 110 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in 8 Croatian counties, in 9 cities and 9 other places, mostly in Zagreb (35), Daruvar (<10), Sesvete (<10), Novi Mihaljevci (<10), and in Uljanik (<10).
