In Croatia, Pečarević families are almost entirely Croats (from the Island of Vis ), barely Bosniaks (also from the Island of Vis ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and on the Island of Vis.
Prevalence
About 50 people with faimily name Pečarević live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 100 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number halved. They are located in five Croatian cities only: in Vis on the Island of Vis (25), Split (10), Zagreb (<10), Bjelovar (<5), and in Komiza on the Island of Vis (<5).

Family name Pečarević is present in five countries on three continents.
