Peršin families are Croats and they are mostly from Jastrebarsko area , or Krizevci area (Jarcani, Donja Glogovnica). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Jastrebarsko area. In Bukovje Bistransko in Oroslavje area every seventh inhabitant had the family name Peršin.
Prevalence
About 230 people with faimily name Peršin live in Croatia today, in 100 households. There were 350 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 30 percent. They are located in 10 Croatian counties, in 15 cities and 25 other places, mostly in Bratina in Jastrebarsko area (65), Zagreb (30), Donja Bistra in Oroslavje area (15), Beter in Jastrebarsko area (15), and in Ivanec Krizevacki (15).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1664 in source Catholic Church Parish Records.
