Pendo families are usually Croats and they are mostly from Dubrovnik , rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Dubrovnik and in Dubrovnik area. In Komaji in Dubrovnik area every eighth inhabitant had the family name Pendo.

Prevalence

About 100 people with faimily name Pendo live in Croatia today, in 40 households. There were 90 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 20 percent.
They are located in four Croatian counties and 12 other places, mostly in Dubrovnik (35), in Komaji (15) and Mocici (15) in Dubrovnik area, Korcula on the Island of Korcula (<10), and in Mokosica (<10).
