Pavlešić families are Croats the family name originates from Jastrebarsko area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Slunj. In Vučani in Cazma every ninth inhabitant had the family name Pavlešić.
Prevalence
About 140 people with faimily name Pavlešić live in Croatia today, in 50 households. There were 150 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 10 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 17 cities and 13 other places, mostly in Zagreb (20), Mracin in Duga Resa area (20), Slunj (15), Kupinec in Jastrebarsko area (15), and in Rijeka (10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
