Pauković families are almost entirely Croats and they are mostly from Ogulin area , rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Ogulin area. In Gornje Cjepidlake in Daruvar area every fourth inhabitant had the family name Pauković.
Prevalence
About 380 people with faimily name Pauković live in Croatia today, in 170 households. There were 410 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 10 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 40 cities and 41 other places, mostly in Zagreb (110), Rijeka (20), Karlovac (15), Ogulin (10), and in Nova Gradiska (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over thirty times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
