Pastorčić families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Petrinja area , rarely Italians. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Pula and in Petrinja area. In Petrovec in Petrinja area every sixth inhabitant had the family name Pastorčić.
Prevalence
About 210 people with faimily name Pastorčić live in Croatia today, in 90 households. There were 270 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in 10 Croatian counties, in 21 cities and 22 other places, mostly in Pag on the Island of Pag (20), Pazin (15), Labin (15), Zagreb (10), and in Pula (10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
