Pamić families are usually Croats and they are mostly from Pazin area , rarely Italians. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Pula and in Pazin area. In places Pamići and Sveti Petar u Šumi in Pazin area every eighth inhabitant had the family name Pamić.
Prevalence
About 420 people with faimily name Pamić live in Croatia today, in 160 households. There were 350 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 20 percent. They are located in 10 Croatian counties, in 17 cities and 24 other places, mostly in Sveti Petar u Sumi (95) and Pamici (75) in Pazin area, Pula (60), Rovinj (45), and in Pazin (30).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
