Omerović families are mainly Bosniaks and they are mostly from Bosnian Posavina , whereas often Croats (from the Island of Brac ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Bosanian Posavina (Gradacac area). In Urkovići in Podrinje (Bosnia) nearly every inhabitant had the family name Omerović.
Prevalence
About 430 people with faimily name Omerović live in Croatia today, in 160 households. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 40 cities and 47 other places, mostly in Zagreb (210), Rijeka (80), Sesvete (35), Supetar on the Island of Brac (20), and in Gunja in Zupanja area (15).

Family name Omerović (including: Omerovic , Omerovich ) is present in 30 countries worldwide. The family name "Omerovic " is used by some 1000 people in Germany , about 800 in the United States , and some 200 people in Austria.
