Omazić families are Croats and they are mostly from western Bosnia. According to some sources they are from Prolozac near Imotski. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Western Bosnia (Livno area) and in Western Bosnia (Tomislavgrad area).
Prevalence
About 290 people with faimily name Omazić live in Croatia today, in 120 households. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 25 cities and 19 other places, mostly in Zagreb (100), Djakovo (55), Osijek (35), Split (30), and in Sesvete (10).

Family name Omazić is present in 11 countries on two continents.
