Nuić families are Croats and they are mostly from Herzegovina (Drinovci). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Herzegovina (Grude area) and in Herzegovina (Ljubuski area).
Prevalence
About 290 people with faimily name Nuić live in Croatia today, in 120 households. There were 30 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 32 cities and 27 other places, mostly in Zagreb (70), Split (40), Makarska (20), Pozega (10), and in Osijek (10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1935 in source Faculty of Humanities University of Zagreb Alumni.
