Nuhanović families are mainly Bosniaks and they are mostly from Cazinska Krajina Region (Bosnia), whereas often Croats (also from Cazinska Krajina Region , Bosnia). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Cazins Region, Bosnia (Velika Kladusa area) and in Cazins Region, Bosnia (Cazin area). In Čajići in Cazins Region (Bosnia) every fifth inhabitant had the family name Nuhanović.
Prevalence
About 120 people with faimily name Nuhanović live in Croatia today, in 50 households. There were 10 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 35 cities and 22 other places, mostly in Zagreb (30), Rijeka (10), Split (10), Crni Potok in Glina area (<10), and in Karlovac (<10).

Family name Nuhanović is present in 20 countries worldwide. The family name "Nuhanovic " is used by some 300 people in the United States , about 90 in Libya , and small number of people in Germany.
